10 Ways to Make Money Online in Poland

Top 10 Ways to make money online Poland

Are you tired of the 9-to-5 routine? Did our Worst Jobs video do nothing to make you feel better about your current employment? We may be able to help you, as always, with another great installment! This time, we’re tackling the top ten real ways you can make money online Poland! These may not replace your full-time job immediately, but with a little time, patience and imagination, you could go create a career out of the comfort of your own home!

10. Online Psychic and Tarot Readings
Regardless of what you believe, there are those out there that swear by astrological readings, tarot cards, and psychics. That also means there are people out there that would pay others to provide said services, turning what some would consider ludicrous into a viable business. Via websites like Kasamba.com, alleged psychics can sign themselves up for paid live chat sessions and charge a specific amount per minute. Tarot readings are a bit more complicated to get started in, mostly because there are so many free services offered, but Craigslist has proved a viable starting point before moving onto your own online tarot reading service.

9. Online Surveys
Ever wonder how some companies make the decisions they do? Sometimes it’s an internal decision based off of figures and estimations, but consumer opinion can be a big part of change; but where would those opinions come from and how do  hey coax people to take the time to do a survey? Well, with online surveys and cash money, of course! There are plenty of websites that offer compensation for surveys, so much that the market is getting pretty saturated, but some sites are a bit more generous than others. If you aim to make some extra cash through online surveys, recommended sites include SwagBucks.com, OpinionOutpost.com, and Toluna.com, or for Android users, the app Google Opinion Rewards is a great way to earn a few bucks towards your Google Credit account.

8. Online Focus Groups
Like online surveys, online focus groups allow for convenient consumer and political research, but they require a bit more from the participants than clicking a few radio buttons. Rather than gathering a group of people in one location, though, everything is done in an online forum. As there isn’t much of an inconvenience to participants, not every online focus group pays, but if you’re looking for a quick buck, FocusGroup.com is a valuable resource. A moderator will steer the discussion, which is held over a web-based technology like WebEx and GoToMeeting, and you won’t have to deal with the awkwardness of face-to-face  iscussion.

7. Etsy
Feeling crafty and don’t know what to do with those 25 scarves you crocheted? You can try your luck at an arts and crafts show, spend the money to secure a table, and enjoy the blistering heat, or you can simply open an Etsy shop and sell your handmade product from the comfort of your own home. Members of the eCommerce site specialize in handcrafting unique items, leading to a community of over 1.6 million sellers and $2.39 billion in annual sales in 2015 alone. Additional to arts and crafts, Etsy also allows shops to carry vintage and antique items that are at least 20 years old.

6. eBay
Have a lot of junk that you think may be worth something? Since 1995, the online auction house has proved to be a fine means of unloading your unwanted stuff. While you’re free to sell just about anything you can find, those that have the potential to make the most money tend to either focus on limited collectibles, antiques or open their own eBay Store and specialize in stocking and selling anything from clothing to electronics to niche items like, uh, erotic postcards. One of the best ways to find stuff to sell on eBay is by visiting local thrift stores, garage sales and estate sales. Be sure to bring a device with an internet connection so you can price-check your lucky finds before you buy them!

5. Owning or Building a Website
Have a service you think you can offer? Is your mind filled with things that you’d love to throw out for the world to read? Think you have the know-how to turn an online space into an advertising mecca? You may want to shell out the minimal start-up cash to build yourself a website. Making money from a website is a long-term endeavor that takes a lot of patience and time, but if the formula can be perfected, your bank account can grow from ad revenue. If you are the creative type and know your way around Wordpress, or even better, can code, there are plenty of small brick-and-mortar and service companies looking to have a website built, and will often pay in the $1,000's.

4. Virtual Assistant
Thanks to the wonders of the internet, some jobs are able to leave the office setting and be done from the convenience of your home. One position, which offers the perks of a home setting and independence, is a virtual assistant. Much like an in-office assistant, virtual assistants act as a sort of liaison for a higher-up employee, scheduling meetings, fielding phone calls, performing research and record keeping, and partaking in conference calls and online meetings. Via e-mail, telephone calls, and online meeting software, virtual assistants communicate with fellow employees and not once do they need to slip into high heels or throw on a tie to get the job done.

3. Online Tutoring
Maybe you’ve pursued a career in teaching but find that it’s not at all what “younger you” thought it was cracked up to be. Maybe you’re in between teaching jobs or are just waiting for summer break to end. Whether the situation, your schooling doesn’t have to go to waste, especially not with online tutoring as a feasible alternative. Cutting out the need to deal with children in a face-to-face setting, online tutoring allows you to use your educational background to help people of all ages with homework, basic and advanced test prep, and general coursework. Even if you’re still pursuing a degree, so long as you’re a Sophomore in a 4-year degree program, sites like Tutor.com will consider you for an online tutor position.

2. Freelancing Poland
If you have an ability to create something others may struggle with, such as an informative piece of writing, beautiful graphic logo, or piece of music, you could have a future as an online freelancer. Typically, freelancers are responsible solely for content, whether it be a company logo, website design or podcast theme song. Just knowing how to create something is one part of the battle as marketing yourself and finding clients can be far more frustrating and time-consuming. Websites like PeoplePerHour, Upwork.com, Fiverr.com and FlexJobs.com are vital resources for starting freelancers looking to remain and succeed in an online setting.

1. Own a YouTube Channel Poland
It’s true, you can make quite a bit of money by owning and operating your own YouTube channel. What isn’t true is any inkling you may have that it’s easy to do. Many different factors go into what makes a YouTube channel successful, first and foremost being whether or not the idea is original and appealing. Though that doesn't mean you need any talent or expensive equipment, there are plenty of channels that have started or continue to use sub-par equipment, yet have a huge following. Scary Afghanistan Mysterious Creatures

15 Scary Afghanistan Mysterious Creatures Caught on Video
15. Cthulhu Under The Sea
In 2007 a deep sea camera owned by an oil company caught this image of a massive squid-like creature near the Gulf of Mexico. This deep sea nightmare has a large head with fins that protrude out from it, tentacles or legs that extend horizontally and then drop down for several feet. Its physical appearance can be compared to that of a daddy long legs,
met with a sci-fi flick alien. When this footage was released a lot of speculation began as to what this creature may be.

The first and most common theory was that this was a relative of Cthulhu - a cosmic creature created by H.P Lovecraft in the short story “The Call of Cthulhu”. Plenty of believers and paranormal enthusiasts began turning their head to research, outrage, and fear knowing that this creature was living in our oceans possibly waiting for a chance to come to shore and take control or wreak havoc. This creature also gave those that already feared the ocean an even greater reason to stay miles away from it.

As fun and scary as all of this speculation was, this is actually a Bigfin squid which was
discovered in 1988. However, this is one of only a handful of times that it was caught on tape and even the most skilled scientists still know very little about this creature. That being said this could very well be a descendent of the Great Old One, and is certainly a marvelous reason to stay out of the ocean.

14. Unknown Creature
This video involves a driver traveling down a dirt road in the dead of night, when he comes across a truly terrifying creature. The man appears to be driving while holding his camera up toward the figure. At first he just seems confused by what he sees, but things take an almost heart wrenching turn. The figure is wearing what appears to be a white gown, and has long dark hair.

It also seems to have a limp in the way that it walks and is slightly hunched over. The man lets out expressions of horror and as the creature begins to stagger violently toward him he lets out shrieks of pure fear. The sounds of pure terror that this man makes are truly enough to be upsetting. Little else is known about this creature, however there have been speculations that this is actually an elderly woman being possessed by a demon, going after unsuspecting travelers. This is not the first case of roadside ghostly, or demonic creatures.

All over the world “roadside nightmares” are recorded and shared. The common explanations for these creatures are that its’ either the spirit of someone who died on that road, a spirit trying to hitch a ride somewhere, or a demon slash creature looking to get those lonely drivers off the road for whatever evil reason. This is a good example of why you should always use the buddy system when driving on dark dirt roads.

13. Men in Black
The Hollywood blockbuster trilogy The Men In Black follows two government agents that work highly undercover trying to find alien beings living on Earth and wreaking havoc. These movies are general comedic with scenes of fun alien fighting action. However, the duo known as the real life men in black are quite different in several ways. For the past
several years people who claim to have seen UFO’s also claim that shortly after this alien encounter they were visited by two very creepy men in black suits.

UFO enthusiasts that spend time researching UFO’s have often reported being visited by them as well. The men apparently find these people who have claimed contact with alien life and question
them, claiming they’re from a secret organization. They also present a white card with the word “security” embossed onto it, and have been reported to often refer to one another as numbers rather than by names. Each story shared about the M.I.B has a different motive behind the visit, and every visit is strange in it’s own way. Stories in relation to these two agents include cases of telepathy, teleportation, and even physical violence. So aside from these men in black being creepier, mystical, and aggressive than our friendly silver screen pair, these two apparently are also aliens themselves.

Reports of encounters with the M.I.B describe them as abnormally tall, completely hairless, pale white, with eyes that are slightly larger than average. The two also apparently look exactly the same - like walking clones that finish each other’s sentences. The M.I.B were caught on camera in 2008 after a hotel manager and security guard reported seeing a UFO. Several days after their reports the men in black arrived at the hotel looking for the manager and guard – who were not there at the time. When the manager reviewed security footage he saw the two men, and this is the only reported proof of their existence.

12. Icelandic Worm Monster
Every country and every culture around the world has its’ own paranormal legends. The U.S has bigfoot, Goblins and Elves are popular in Mexico, Scotland discovered the Loch Ness Monster, and Iceland has the giant worm monster. Though it sounds like more of a punchline than a threatening creature, the worm monster is actually pretty creepy. This video, uploaded in 2012 is perhaps one of the best quality videos to date of the unknown worm-like creature.

But sightings have been reported since as early as 1345, in relation to this phenomenon. This video shows the creature slithering through Icey waters, and zoomed in shots show what could be a snake like head that force the water and ice out of its’ path. The worm is said to inhabit lake Lagarflj?t. The creature has yet to have been caught or studied, and while there are numerous theories out there as to what this could be such as a collection of bacteria or debris, atmospheric warping, or even optical illusions there is not a solid answer as of now. Many scientists and even psychologists have found that these theories offer an answer to only some of the reported sightings, but don’t hold valid for every single one – meaning they cannot be the factual truth.

11. Shadowy Ghost in School
A group of young teens decided to go explore an abandoned school in their town. The building is ridden with gravity and its apparent no one has been in it for at least several years. As the group enters a classroom of the school, the camera catches a very realistic shadowy figure waling from a window toward the group. Something about the way the figure walks looks very casual, as if it’s wearing jeans and has one hand in its pocket. Many refer to this ghost as ‘headless’ however that could just be because of the way the light is coming in from the window. The group of teens don’t seem to notice or see the figure, but just as the camera catches it, a loud roaring noise can be heard. The noise is comparable to a deep echoing moan, slowed down church bells, or ship alerts. The teens begin to scream and run out of the school, as they run and even after coming to a stop to talk about what happened, they can still hear the eerie noise. They continue to explore as if looking for the source of the terrifying noise, but the video ends and we are left with more questions than anything.

10. Goblin or Elf
Goblins are very small evil elf-like creatures that originated in European countries during the Middle Ages. Goblins have different appearances depending on what region the folklore is coming from, but they’re usually very small, dirty, greedy and mischievous. Most stories associated with goblins involved them stealing, leaving behind messes, or even killing people, usually small children.

In this video there seems to be a small group of kids or teens playing in a messy room. One teen in particular is in front of the camera kicking around a ball. The boy kicks the ball off to the side and goes to retrieve it when he looks down at a small creature crouching in against the wall. It’s very hard to make out what is being seen, but the group collectively screams and the camera cuts off as the small creature bounds away.

Many people claim this was just a rat that scared the group of youngsters, however even with low quality you can tell that the small being is on two very human like legs, and it even appears to be wearing a pointed hat. The way that the creature runs from the group at the threat of being sighted either lends proof to the legend that goblins hate to be seen, or offers the idea that they aren’t’ evil little creatures after all. Either way, seeing a very tiny humanoid in your home is bound to freak anyone out.

9. Creature Climbs Building
This creature seems like it’s straight from the nightmare of an arachnophobe, or anyone really. This video is shot from an upper level floor and shows a very long legged creature scaling the side of an unknown building in Russia. The spider-like being has 4 massive legs that seem to stretch like rubber, and it moves fluidly from one building to the
other – and then over the top of the second building.

We’ve actually seen videos like this before with the black stick figure men climbing down a city building in the dead of night, back in 2013. Coincidentally both videos were shot in Russia – are very similar, and went viral causing a stir amongst small towns. Could something like this suggest foul play, or is there a trend here we aren’t catching? Of course viewers seem to argue that it’s fake and is done with the power of CGI.

Even if that’s true, you have to give props to its creator for reaching into the nightmares of many and bringing it to life. This phenomenon of black stick men has been going on for nearly thousands of years, with reports from children and full grown adults all over the world. So even if the clip is faked – the legend is quite real and this video brings that fear into your very own computer screen.

8. Alien in Graveyard
Alien sightings, and reports of abduction go as far back as 329 B.C when Alexander the Great claimed that he witnessed massive silver shields in the sky, which spit fire and dove toward his army. The world is filled with Alien enthusiasts and people who have memories having been abducted that completely ruined their lives. So finding footage of Aliens
here on Earth of UFO’s traveling through the sky isn’t that amazing. Something about this clip, though, is a little extra terrifying. This video was allegedly shot in December of 2005 and shows an alien in a graveyard.

The person behind the camera seems to be walking through the graveyard and taking short video to document the location. The graves seem very run down and unkempt so it’s possible this graveyard is very old and the person recording had an interest in that. They probably wanted to get some great footage of the eerie tombstones, but never expected to see a dark green figure lingering behind one. In the video it’s unclear whether the camera-person is even aware of this creature, but the creature certainly seems aware of them. The extraterrestrial seems to step forward and look directly at the camera before receding behind the tombstone.

A slowed down and zoomed in shot of the video gives a better look at the creature to show a massive head, skinny torso, and dangling arms. It can also be assumed that the alien is very short as it’s much shorter than the tombstone in shot. As if graveyards weren’t spooky enough, this video crosses two fears of death and the unknown and puts them in one location. If this video is genuine, what was the alien doing in such an old graveyard?

7. The Rake
The Rake is a legend that dates back as far as 1621, but has gained new popularity since the summer of 2003. Many people have claimed sightings of the rake. There are even several short films and projects out there in relation to this creature, as well as Creepypastas. There are several variations of how the rake is described but it’s usually referred to
as having grey skin, huge black eyes, and no body hair. It also apparently is hunched over and has arms way too long in proportion to its’ body. This particular video is one of many that have made their way to the surface of the web. It’s a wheat or corn field of some type and you can see a very thin and misshapen humanoid creature running through
the high grass. The title of the video this claims the rake and it does seem to be similar to some claims and sightings that have come before.

6. Tsunami Creature
This video is actually something new, not something there’s every day hoaxed footage of like bigfoot or ghosts. This was posted in late 2014 and shows a severe Tsunami hitting a gulf coast of Japan. The video is low quality and was probably shot just to get footage of the tsunamis damage. But in the background of the video, the camera person was lucky enough to catch a strange, possibly magical creature.

Around 3:13 in the original video a waves seems to crash up toward a building. But then that white mass that appears to be a wave grows legs and a fin and climbs up the side of a building for safety. Sounds like just another sea creature right? That changes literally milliseconds after it climbs the building, when it disappears into mist. Or at least that’s what appears to happen.

There has yet to be a proven explanation for this, and speculations range from exploding fire extinguishers to Japanese spirits, to alien creatures that have been inhabiting the oceans for centuries. Take a closer look at the video yourself and you decide. Is this a mass of smoke, or something more mystical? And if it is something more on the side of fantasy, what could this be?

5. Another Goblin
This is another video of a goblin, or other small humanoid creature. Except that this one is of even higher quality and its’ very clear the little creature that runs through the shot is not just a rodent or shadow. A mother is casually filming her infant in what appears to be their kitchen, when the dark colored humanoid bounds through the shot and darts under a table. Just as the small humanoid is in the shot of the camera it begins to glitch as the audio is horribly distorted.

The mother screams and grabs her baby, but then returns her camera under the table to try and get footage of the goblin. Unfortunately, the goblin is already out of sight. In this case the goblin seems to have a much more humanlike body, isn’t wearing a clich? red pointed hat, and has floppy pointed ears. While skeptics claim this is fake, plenty of believers out there dub this as the best footage of goblins or elves to date.

4. Witch on Fire
A bruja is the term used in regions such as Mexico, to refer to a person who practices witchcraft. The term bruja, or brujo can refer to any person male or female that practices any level of form of witchcraft. While bruja is not immediately a negative term, Mexico and other regions have developed an understanding that evil witches do exist and practice black
magic with the goal of harming others.

Many witch legends involve elderly women with the ability to shape-shift, steal souls for the devil and even eat children. This video was uploaded in 2013 and is titled “Fire Witch in the Forest (Real Witch)” the description explains that this video was taken because a group of people could not tell what they were seeing and wanted to review the video later. Upon reviewing the video this is what they found.

The imagery itself is pretty unsettling as it just appears to be a human body engulfed in flames. However, at the same time the person does not seem to be panicking and they disappear from thin air several times. Again, this video was shot on a dark dirt road in the middle of nowhere which adds even more to the aura of fear. Many people are claiming this is some sort of video editing, or hoax. But if you’re a believer in witchcraft you’re likely to agree this seems pretty genuine.

3. Giants in Peru
This video was shot by a woman who is assumed to be at home with her mother. There’s no explanation as to why she was filming but what she caught on tape was unbelievable. There appears to be two normal sized humans standing atop the hills, when all of a sudden on of them appears to stand up or grow in size. The figure is twice the size of the one next to it, which is either believed to be a regular sized human or a similar creature in a seated position.

The woman recording the video begins to cry out in horror and calls her mom to come look. An investigative team took a closer look into this phenomenon. They placed a man at the same exact location and took photos from the location where the video was originally filmed. The person they used was of average height and very thin build. When they aligned the footage of this man with the footage of the alleged giants, the figures captured were indeed significantly taller than the model used.

Some other things found during this investigation were that the taller figure was extremely thin compared to even a skinnier than average person, possibly because of their height. And the head of the figure, as well as the figure seated below it had odd shapes. The model used had very short hair but even with that playing in, the “giants” had heads that seemed to be shaped more egg-like. The investigation video was uploaded by GCEPERU and will be linked below. The video is not in English, but there’s plenty more to be learned about this case.

2. Forest Creature
This video is time stamped from 2006 but wasn’t uploaded until around 2013. The story is that this is a group of videographers were exploring a forested area for an upcoming documentary in Catalonia, Spain. While exploring the wooded region they heard strange noises, unlike any animal or human they’d heard before. They also found trails of huge feathers and followed them. They eventually came up to a man squatting down behind bushes, staring at the ground. He appears nearly lifeless and quite ghoulish. His skin is pale and his bones are very apparent. He seems to notice the group and looks toward the camera with huge glowing eyes. Speculation for this creature range from it being a malnourished homeless man, to it being another form of the rake, all the way to it being a fallen angel who was cast out of heaven – which would explain the feathers. No matter what you believe – this group was pretty horrified by what they saw and the images presented in the short footage is quite haunting.

1. The Hybrid Man
Bigfoot is one of the biggest, most well-known legends in the world and is especially popular in the U.S and Asian countries. This story comes from a province in China where their version of bigfoot is referred to as the Yemen. It’s uncertain where this footage is originally from, but it looks like it could be from a Chinese documentary or news report. The footage shows this “hybrid man” that is nearly hairless, has a very large ape-like skull, long dangly arms, nearly no neck, and is extremely tall. The man seems childlike or even animal-like in his mannerisms and he allegedly never learned to speak a language – however he did understand what people were telling him. According to his mother, she was kidnapped by a Yemen and sexually assaulted repeatedly before being brought back to her small village where 9 months later she gave birth to this hybrid. He lived to be 33 years old before dying of natural unknown causes. The common explanation for this man is that he suffered from a genetic disorder known as Microcephaly, and his mother was ashamed to have given birth to a mentally challenged child – especially out of wed lock. Microcephaly causes the brain to develop improperly and leads to a smaller than usual head, mental disabilities, poor motor function, poor speech, abnormal facial features, seizures, and dwarfism. The only thing that microcephaly cannot explain is the astonishing size of this man. As mentioned before its’ common for those who suffer from this disorder to have dwarfism, but this man was the exact opposite. There’s not much else known about this man, or even the footage of him that’s provided.

When fate strikes - Moments that change everything

I do it every day, in the morning and sometimes in the evening. So I can concentrate… and focus. I learned this at drama school. You get into a flow. If you’re in the flow state, if you have a direction, then everything is fine. Back when I was at the film and acting school in Sofia, I acted in a movie for the first time. It was a Hollywood production with Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren and other stars. These days I am not known as an actor, but as a mayor. The youngest mayor in Bulgaria. It’s certainly not what I had in mind for my life. I know Dolna Malina from my childhood, we often spent our vacations here. My father was born here, so was my grandfather. Elections should be held much more often. Someone else was mayor here for four years and nothing happened. The people were forgotten. A road was quickly paved just before the election, but we are actually being robbed. Ah… I’d better stop, that’s too much information. Maybe they’ll vote for me again. Then I’ll rebuild what no longer exists. Infrastructure, culture and hope. Politics is confusing. What is democracy? Ultimately, it’s the people with money that determine the lives of others. That’s how many people think here in Bulgaria. We have a problem with our river. Twice a year it turns gray and the entire ecosystem dies out. It changes color in a matter of seconds. The frogs disappear, the ducks, geese, fish, even the algae. A year ago, some residents complained. Someone even wrote something about it in the local newspaper. He got a call from the administration of the entire district. He was told he didn’t know who he was dealing with. Very dubious… The problem is that the state and the entire system is set up like that – corruption and nepotism. That’s why so many young people are leaving. They are fleeing from this injustice in Bulgaria. People have the feeling that everything is dying out here and that there is no hope. The house I live in belonged to my great-grandparents, and even the generations before them. When I came to live in Dolna Malina, I was fed up with big cities. The noise and all that. I wanted to get away from it all. I was on the theater stage in China, New York and London. In between, I wanted to relax and recharge. I’m the exception in my family. My father likes to say I’m a “circus person”. If you don’t go into business and earn good money, you can forget it. Whereas my mother has always supported me. So it’s thanks to her that I’ve continued in this direction – acting and film. Back then, a friend kept asking me the same question: Wouldn’t you like to be mayor of Dolna Malina? I thought he was joking. He said, “Next year there are elections and you’re a good fit for this village. You can achieve something.” He asked me over and over again. And then I stood for election. It was a game for both sides, like playing on the stage, but in real life – and suddenly it became reality. Surprisingly, people chose me. Here in this room, they put me on their shoulders. Then they sat me down at a table. There was music and everyone danced around me. I sat there and stared at the wall. I thought damn, what have you done with your life now? Of course I regretted it. Just take a look out there. There are lots of people living here. What do I do with them all now? What does a mayor actually do? I had absolutely no idea! Of course that scared me, people had expectations of me and I had no idea where to start. At first I played the role. It was like the circus for me and then after three months I wanted to quit and leave. But the residents wouldn’t let me. People came to me every day to change my mind. They said that they had put their trust in me and that they would help me. They told me about a Bulgarian proverb. It says that once you’ve started dancing, you have to finish. Once you’ve started, it’s a commitment, whether you like it or not. So I stayed. Before Yonko came to the village it was desolate, silent… How can I put it? Yonko brings people here from outside that we can sing and dance with. And when he dances himself, everyone dances with him. Life was suddenly beautiful, and fun. I felt a little nostalgic. Many of my generation fled to Western Europe. And so I began to share experiences with those who stayed. To help them, and together we changed something. Created a new reality. There are people who say this is what fate has decreed. But we alone are our destinies. Because we make the decisions for ourselves. When I stood for election as mayor, my father said to me: “This is the smartest decision you have ever made, the most sensible thing you’ve ever done.” My mother was also convinced that I would achieve something. Now my parents are asking me about something else. They’re poking me. I’d like to have a family one day… but it’s not the right moment yet. I was just talking to my girlfriend about this the other day. I asked her when the moment would come when we would live like normal people? And she said: What does “normal people” actually mean? Normal people are even crazier than we are. There is another saying in Bulgaria: “If you want to make God laugh, make plans.” That’s why I’m not making any more plans. I’m here now and if I continue on my own path, I’ll get there eventually. Life beats the movies. What seems clear today may look completely different tomorrow. The only thing that counts is the here and now. I think I was born with music. That’s how I feel. I started singing before I could speak. At least that’s what my mother told me, that I was lying in bed as a little baby and was already humming music… What I heard on TV or the radio. That’s how I remember myself – singing. I was born in Siberia. More than 40 years ago. My parents come from the Republic of Moldova, both from North Bessarabia. My home is mainly in Moldova. If we talk about this home in the physical sense, this is the place where I live and where the band is, the musicians I work with. It’s my family in a way. So if that’s how you define home, then it’s here. But home for me is also in Romania. I also felt at home in Ukraine because I am of Ukrainian descent as well. I also felt at home in Russia when I traveled there. Because when I was born, it was all one country. We all grew up with the same literature, the same humor, the same jokes – they circulated everywhere. We all had the same furniture. I mean, there were things that were very similar in this whole region. There came a point when I had to choose between university and music. My family was pressuring me to study journalism, so I chose that path. I started working as a journalist in the first few years of my studies. But after years in journalism and politics, I realized that they were all just bubbles. I met Andrei in 2010 and we got married soon after. And that was a phase in which I had some stability in my life. We loved hiking, we loved being in the mountains, both of us. In 2015, I was in the mountains with Andrei. And we were in Piatra Craiului, in Romania, in an area that felt kind of strange. We realized it was dangerous because I saw signs that an avalanche had gone down in front of us. And we decided to turn back. We were already on the way back. And it was a… hmm… that’s how these things happen… I don’t know. Andrei, …at one point he made a tiny movement, one wrong movement, and he slipped. And slipped, and slipped, all the way to the bottom of the slope. It was a very deep ravine – 400 meters deep… yeah. This was taken an hour before the accident happened. The night before, he kept insisting that I sing. He kept saying: sing, sing! It was… I don’t know… as if he felt something, as if it was a last message he left me back then. He kept saying: please sing, please sing! We were in a hut near Brasov and I had a little guitar with me, and I sang and said: But I am singing! And he said: Well then keep singing! I don’t know if music would have become my profession if Andrei were still alive. I think I would have taken a different path in life. We would have started a family, had children. What happened back then left a huge mark on me and I think part of me died with him. I was completely distraught for a while and I couldn’t even sing anymore. Whenever I sang, I started to cry. But I couldn’t go back to my old life. I understood at the time that not a single compromise I had made up to that point made any sense. And when I realized how fleeting life is, how a person can be gone from one second to the next, I asked myself: What are we in this world for? To make life compromises, to buy things, what for? After a year of complete darkness, I came across these guys and we founded the band Via Dacă. Our paths crossed just like that. Sometimes you get the feeling that there is a higher power guiding our paths. Suddenly these guys come along and we try to make music together. For me, music was healing. And I know exactly what kind of music. I was healed by a certain type of music, a certain sound. And now I understand that I have to pay tribute to what music has given me. We are bringing back folklore, but not in its archaic form, not in the original, but in combination with modern music. And, because I’ve been moving within different styles all my life anyway, I find that interesting, especially as music is a universal heritage. We are aware of our roots, but we are looking to connect with other cultures. And that’s what I really love about our time today, this freedom that people didn’t have a few generations ago. They couldn’t travel, just change their location, go to festivals, for example. None of that existed. It’s this mixture, which contains elements of folk music, and especially ancient music, that gives you this feeling, calms your mind and tunes you into certain healing frequencies. It’s still very difficult, but it is possible to make a living from music. Compromises, that word again… I believe that this is a constant process. That’s what you always have to measure yourself against. It’s not a final decision, you’re constantly testing your limits. Besides, I couldn’t go back to journalism or political work. I don’t think I would find my way, and I don’t think I belong there anymore either. I like going to the countryside to meet the people there, to befriend them, to talk to them. Lilia Brechowa is the mayor of the village of Gura Bîcului. The village lies on the banks of the River Nister on the border with Transnistria. The last time I visited Lilia, we went to the bridge that connects Moldova and Transnistria. How long has it been? One and a half years. A year and a half, and I still can’t believe that this isn’t just a nightmare, that Odessa is 100 kilometers away, right here… …and is still being shot at. …and it’s so paradoxical that there is a war while life goes on at the same time. And it’s interesting how people think. Human nature, our ability to adapt. How can we simply adapt to some of these things we’ve gotten used to? We make music. It’s also a kind of self-discovery, what you play. Because when you start composing a piece, you don’t know where it will lead you. You can roughly imagine it, you can have an idea, but the initial spark is sometimes… A clap, a flash of inspiration, a ray of sunshine… and where that leads you, you don’t know. It’s a journey, sometimes with surprises along the way. Yes, you can think about things, have wishes and hopes. But if you cling to them too tightly, to your fears and bad feelings, you are not living your life. That’s what I want – to wake up and enjoy this gift. And to enjoy and see everything that is, and not always only what is not. How would I describe myself? Modest… and with a life that hasn’t really been a success. I never wanted to be a miner. I always resisted it. But a lot of my uncles worked in mining. To avoid having to join the army, I decided to work in the mine for a year. Later, I started to enjoy working underground and somehow it is still my life. Although mining no longer exists here, it is my life. It has died out. But we miners live for what used to be. I wear this uniform as a reminder that mining in Wałbrzych existed, still exists and will continue to exist. It still exists because there is a uniform or a memento of mining in almost every wardrobe in this town. Almost half of the people here were a miners. I feel sad when I talk about it, because those times are not coming back. The brotherhood of miners provided cohesion and solidarity. We used to meet up and talk about all sorts of things. About work, about women, about this and that. I worked in the Wałbrzych coal mines from the end of 1980 to 1991. At the time of the People’s Republic, during the communist era, things were going well for me. I had money, I had a life, I had joy, I had everything. When the fall of communism came, the mining industry fell apart. They kicked us out. They put the first thousand people out on the street. They threw one thousand people out, just like that. Gone. We received a severance payment of three months’ salary. The next people they let go received two years’ salary. My ex-wife broke down because we had a child and money was getting tight. We argued a lot. She said we needed money for this, we needed money for that. And I got angry too. Sometimes there wasn’t enough to buy bread. I tried to earn more somehow, but just couldn’t. I thought that if I worked in Western Europe, I would somehow manage to feed the family. But that was a mistake. Three friends and I took an old car and drove to Germany to work illegally. We later worked in Switzerland, Greece and other countries. I earned a bit of money there. Then I brought it home and lived a little. Then the money was gone again. The divorce came later. Then I lost custody of my child. There were alimony proceedings. Since then, I’ve been trying to make ends meet somehow. I was able to scratch a bit together. It’s not much, but at least I get four złoty for my work. Maybe not much, but four złoty buys you a loaf of bread. Almost every morning between 7 and 8, I go out to collect bottles and cans. You don’t come across many people on the street in the morning. It’s quiet. You get some exercise and some oxygen into your body. When I get home afterwards, I feel more alive. I have a smile on my face. When the sun is shining as beautifully as it is now, the joy emerges. And then sometimes you can close your eyes and dream a little. I like Polish music as well as western music. But only the classics: Deep Purple, Nazareth, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd. When the borders were opened, I went to concerts abroad with a group of friends, to places like Germany or Hungary. At some point, two things came to Poland from the West: Firstly, the plague of tatoos. And secondly, drugs that were smuggled into Poland from the Netherlands and other countries. Huge quantities, which dealers later sold locally. They were in the schools, there were even lollipops with drugs. My daughter was the ideal child at first. She sang, rode her bike and studied a lot for school. I thought she was going to become something. I thought she was my happiness. But I was wrong. She chose the wrong path. She chose the path that leads to hell. She started smoking, drinking and taking drugs. My daughter took almost every kind of drug. I still remember her telling me: When you take drugs, you’re in a wonderful world. And later she was shaking and had epileptic seizures. She got schizophrenia and now has to take medication. I have a terrible relationship with my daughter. As a father, that hurts my heart. Maybe I was a bad father. Maybe I was too strict with her as a father. I fought for several years to help her. I fought to pull her out of this swamp. I didn’t succeed. I sacrificed myself to get her out of there. I was attacked and beaten up twice by dealers because of it. I was in the hospital for seven days. Life is like a boxing match. If you make a mistake in the ring, you hit the ground. If you make a mistake in life, you also fall down. If you fall down and you are clever, then you slowly get back up again when someone reaches out to you. You come to and start again. Our father left us while we were still at elementary school. When I came back from school, the apartment was empty. We didn’t know what was going on. Our father had moved out and taken everything with him. And he only left us a table, chairs and a bed. And so my mother, my brother and I had to join forces to manage somehow. A few years later, my brother and I visited my father. He lived in a villa with his new wife. He had started a glassblowing business. He welcomed us in, but he told us: “You can’t spend the night at my place. There’s a meadow outside where you can pitch a tent.” Later, he also had strawberry fields. He had ten hectares and people who worked for him. But I didn’t get anything from my father. I don’t hold a grudge against him for that. He obviously wanted it that way. I do feel sad about it though. My mother has been alone all her life. And she’s still alone today. It’s sad but true. I’ve always dreamed of having a real family. A family with warmth. That’s what I’m lacking, this familial love. I would like to experience this warmth before I die. The best thing to do is to close my eyes for a moment and dream that there’s a woman here. We would make ourselves a cup of tea, sit down. She would cut off a piece of the cake she baked earlier. We would taste it, laugh together, and kiss. That would be nice. Did you have those beautiful black lines over your eyes when you came out of the mine? Sure. All the miners had that when they came out. I really liked that. We had eyes like that. And on the bus, people would shout: “Look, there’s a gay one!” But it was just coal dust that had collected in our eyebrows. I really liked the miners’ eyes back then. I also started wearing make-up. I had received a package from the US with a pair of Wrangler jeans and a black sweater. I wore this outfit to school every day. If they were to reopen the mine this year, would you work there again as a miner? Yes. At your age… crawling through the tunnels underground? Yes, if they w noould still take me with my health, I would be happy to. It would make me happy to be able to work there again, no matter how long I live. Life is beautiful. You have to know what to do with it. Life means sorrow, grief, regret, bitter tears. Life means joy and a smile on your face. Life is that one moment you wait for your whole life.

17 Common Dream Meanings You Should Never Ignore

Brainy Dose Presents: 17 Common Dream Meanings You Should Never Ignore Dreams… Everyone has them. They can be beautiful, magical and exciting; but they can also be frightening - waking you up in the middle of the night in panic. For those of you who watch our channel regularly, you probably already know that we’ve delved deep into the psychology of dreams in previous videos. Today, we will explore some common dreams and their meanings - specifically ones that dream analysts say are worth paying attention to. And while science hasn’t yet proven that there is any exclusive meaning to dreams, experts continue to study dreams to promote self-awareness and to help us better understand what’s troubling us in our daily lives. Here are some common dreams you should not ignore!
Number 1 - Being Lost Or Trapped

If you’ve had a dream where you found yourself lost or trapped, what this usually means is that you have uncertainty with regards to a particular situation in your life and you are unsure of what steps to take. Having dreams of being lost in a large building, being lost in the woods, or in some kind of maze can cause overwhelming feelings, as you can’t find your way out. And these dreams mirror the complications that you are experiencing in your life, be it financial, emotional, physical or mental.

Number 2 - Boxes

Dreaming about boxes means that your subconscious is trying to bring attention to some type of concealment. You may be worried about someone hiding something important from you, or perhaps you have a secret that you are keeping from others. Further to this, if in a dream, you open a box, it could mean that a secret you are holding onto is now ready to be released and revealed. But if after looking inside, you realize that there is nothing in the box, you are probably going through some feelings of distress or dissatisfaction in your life.

Number 3 - Missed Opportunities

If you dream about scenarios where you miss a bus, plane, train or some other form of public transportation, usually by just a fraction of a second, the dream may be mirroring real life regrets you have about not pursuing something you wanted to. It could be that concert you missed, or not responding on time to that follow up call for that dream job. Other dreams that also signify these kinds of regrets are ones where you are late to an event, performance or an interview.

Number 4 - Falling Or Sinking

These dreams often include feelings of helplessness or being overwhelmed – dreams where you’re falling, usually from some high point like a tall building; or you could be sinking into a large body of water like the ocean. People often believe that having these dreams, or what is better thought of as nightmares, is a prediction of their own death, but this isn’t the case. Such a dream suggests that you are not happy or satisfied with where you are in life. Perhaps you have some fear of failure in some endeavour or more risky life choices you’ve made and they’re swinging around to bite you in the butt. To find meaning again, you may need to think of some new choices - or altogether carve a new, different path.

Number 5 - Being Chased

This dream is most common among those suffering with anxiety. It’s often a dream where you are being chased by someone, an animal or something else. In real life, this represents running away from a certain situation, or an emotion not yet ready to be faced. It could be a breakup or grief.

Number 6 - Teeth

If you’ve ever dreamed that your teeth arefalling out, this indicates feelings of insecurity, not being good enough, or feeling unattractive. This could be in regards to a romantic relationship, school or work. In addition, having a dream that involves the pulling of teeth is a sign that something needs to come out. And lastly, rotten teeth - this indicates anxiety or some kind of fear you are experiencing.

Number 7 - Ants

Dreaming about ants may be an indication of something bothering or irritating you. This is thought to be your subconscious prompting you to deal with an issue or issues, rather than having them pile up over time. Since ants are known to work together in teams, dreaming about them can also show that you value your relationships with family and friends, and you believe in working as a team to get things done.

Number 8 - Hair

It’s likely that there are areas in your relationships that need work if you are dreaming about hair. It may be your subconscious nudging you to put more focus on and embrace the sexual side of your personality. Hair also symbolizes, whether it comes to work or relationships, that you prefer to know where you stand in relation to others and that you have a longing to connect with people. If you dream about long hair, it means you are seeking a sense of freedom and this may call for that opportunity to remove the restrictions you may be putting on yourself sometimes.

Number 9 - Water

This can either represent that you like to take chances or that you want to take more chances. If you dream about water, you probably have big goals and it’s a way for your subconscious to push you to aim high and keep your spirit up. And while taking risks can often seem scary, these dreams indicate that you are ready to take on a big risk in your life - in some new and unexplored area.

Number 10 - Your Home

When you dream about a home, more specifically, your home, this represents your inner life. Different floors and rooms in the house can be associated with various degrees of consciousness and different aspects of an individual. The basement usually reflects neglect - things that have been neglected, or things that you may not be aware of in your waking life. Bedrooms relate to thoughts and feelings that are more intimate and closest to your core self. Any type of damage or destruction to your house in a dream suggests that you are lacking self-care and may even be sabotaging yourself. It’s a warning that your emotional wellbeing is at risk. If you dream about any kind of home improvement or discovering new spaces in your home, this represents that some area of your real life is moving in a positive direction and improving.

Number 11 - Flying

I don’t know about you, but I find these dreams pretty awesome. I guess it’s safe to say that many of us wish we could fly. But what it means when you dream about flying is that you are ready to make some brave choices. When it comes to daily life, we face all kinds of pressures - they could be related to relationships, or work, or anything else - and we all seek some way of freeing ourselves from all the madness. Staying positive and making stronger choices will help with your much-needed release.

Number 12 - Roads

Often, the many roads that we can take further complicate life. But when you dream about just a single road, this is your subconscious telling you to keep things simple. Your life is heading in the right direction if the roads are straight and clear. But if the roads are difficult to navigate, are dirty or you notice fog, this suggests that you need to reconsider your lifestyle - as you’ve taken a negative course in life. To simplify this, just remember that straight roads mean a journey with positive flow and curved roads mean a journey with challenges.

Number 13 - Being Naked In Public

The likelihood that you’ve had a dream where you were naked, is well, pretty damn high. But there’s also a good chance that you’ve had a dream where you were naked in public. And the reason is, that it symbolizes a fear of being judged. And I think we’ve all had that fear. Putting yourself out there can feel daunting and it does take courage. Everyone has a fear of exposing their vulnerabilities. But the only way to diminish those negative feelings is by actually putting yourself out there. The ultimate goal here is self-acceptance. You should be confident and proud of who you are – and that’s exactly what your subconscious wants. This dream is telling you to have more appreciation for yourself and to start loving that reflection you see in the mirror every morning.

Number 14 - Flowers

If you have a dream about flowers, whether it’s just one or a bunch, pay attention because it’s a good indicator that in the near future, you’ll have some interesting opportunities coming your way. Perhaps there are some endeavours from your past that you put a lot of effort in, which will finally come to life. You could be looking at new beginnings and a desirable future. Now, if you dream about flowers that are dead, you may face an end to something in your life.

Number 15 - Mud

Dreaming of mud can reveal that you are stuck in some life choices and it’s time to break free. It also represents growth and rebirth - like a flower growing in soil. It’s a reminder that when you are not happy with any area of your life, you can start over. If you aren’t feeling good about some things, it may require a change of pace, and this feeling of discontent directly correlates with the experience of being stuck.

Number 16 - Failing A Test

You would think that this dream would be most common amongst students, but actually, that’s not the case. It’s usually those who have already left school. Having this dream is an indicator that you are feeling tested – causing anxiety about what the future has in store for you. Some of the scenarios in this dream involve showing up for a test unprepared due to a lack of studying, or not even finding the test room to begin with, or missing the necessary tools to complete the test - like not having a pencil, a ruler or anything else you would need.

Number 17 - Recurring Dreams

Are you finding yourself having the same or similar dream over and over again? If the answer is yes, you should not ignore this. This is your subconscious using the power of repetition to tell you something about your personal growth. This dream will continue until you finally understand the message your mind is sending you. 5 Reasons Why You're Dreaming About Dead Relatives

here it is understanding the language of Dreams course one in this course you'll learn why dreams are so mysterious you'll learn about the six visual States taken from the Bible relating to Visions you'll discover the different domains of a dream you'll also learn how to determine what role you and others play in your dream which is important for correct interpretation and much more I've also included fun exercises so you can practice what you've learned just click on the link below and get your course of understanding the language of Dreams I [Music] a number of people have had dreams about a deceased loved one although this type of dream is common would it be a negative or a positive Dream well let's talk about five reasons why you're dreaming about dead relatives thank you we've all experienced the loss of a loved one it's usually a time of profound sadness grief heartbreak and sometimes even shock dreams about a family member who has died can have different meanings depending on what the family member is doing or saying in the dream always remember that this doesn't always mean bad when it comes to interpreting dreams in other words the dead relative that appears in my dream may have a different meaning than the dead relative in your dream now I first want to say that God forbids necromancy which is communication with the dead and this includes seeking out psychics and mediums to do so in Leviticus 19 and 31 it says do not turn to mediums or spiritist do not seek them out to be defiled by them I am the Lord your God so Consulting with psychics and mediums will open doors for demons to come and wreak havoc in your life I believe there are some mediums who are sincere in what they do and they don't know that they're getting their information from demon Spirits so again entertaining psychics mediums and fortune tellers is absolutely forbidden by God now let's look at five reasons why you're dreaming about dead relatives number one the dead relative in your dream could actually be a demon Spirit masquerading as your deceased loved one a masquerading spirit also known as a familiar spirit is a demon that's pretending to be your relative this is particularly true if the relative is acting thing out of character or behaving in a way that is the opposite of how they carry themselves in real life for example in the dream your relative could be talking in a deceptive way or even speaking gibberish a language you don't understand or they may be trying to persuade you to follow them somewhere or to go with them somewhere in this type of dream you usually have a sense that an evil spirit is pretending to be your deceased relative there is usually a darkness in the atmosphere a Darkness about the dream so if you have this type of dream you need to rebuke and bind the demon Spirit that's masquerading as your deceased loved one and forbid them to intrude into your dreams in Jesus name number two a dead relative in a dream can be symbolic of what the deceased person represents for example you can have a dream about your deceased mother but your mother can represent someone who is a mother figure to you in real life or it could be speaking of the church because a mother in a dream can be symbolic of the church likewise your deceased father in a dream can be symbolic of God the father or someone who's a father figure in your life so depending on what your deceased relative is doing or saying to you in the dream the dead relative can represent something or someone else number three dreaming about a deceased family member can simply mean that you love and miss them it's natural to miss the presence of a close relative who has died so you can have a dream involving a dead loved one simply because you miss them and desire to see them again number four a dream about a dead relative can be a result of unresolved issues that the dreamer had with their deceased loved one for example there may have been negative issues that were not dealt with or resolved and the dreamer didn't get the chance to repair the relationship or make peace with their loved one before they died so if this was the issue between the dreamer and their deceased loved one the dreamer may have this type of dream because they're Desiring closure and healing number five the dreamer needs reassurance that the deceased relative is at peace so you can have a dream that you're talking to your deceased loved one and God can give this type of dream to bring comfort to the dreamer that their deceased loved one is no longer in pain they're no longer suffering and that they are at peace with the Lord Jesus who is the Prince of Peace hey have you picked up your copy of the mysterious language of Dreams yet in this book I go more in depth about dreams and dream interpretation than I do on my YouTube videos I talk about the depth dimension of dreams dream layers I talk about the time dimension of a dream also dreams and the 4 Dreams That Reveal Your Future Spouse

so here's the question can God show you your future spouse in a dream if so how can you know that the person you're seeing in the dream is the one you're actually going to marry let's talk about how to recognize your future spouse in a dream thank you in this video I will not be talking or addressing spiritual spouses now let me Begin by saying that God can absolutely reveal your future spouse in a dream but he will never violate his word in doing so and here's an example of what I mean by that some years ago a woman had a dream that she married a man from her congregation but the problem with that was the fact that the man was already married she felt very strongly that God was showing her her future husband but that could not have been the case because we all know that God will never send you someone who's already married he's never ever going to do that if he did something like that then he would be causing the person to covet someone else's spouse which is a sin so God will never violate his word when it comes to revealing a future spouse now if you feel that God is showing you your future spouse in a dream the first thing you need to do is pray and ask God if he is actually revealing your future spouse as in the example I just gave you can feel strongly that the person in the dream represents a future spouse but they can in fact be representing someone or something else that's why it's so important to pray first after having a dream like this and not to trust your heart the Bible says that our hearts are deceitful and so we need to pray and not lean on our own understanding but seek God for the meaning of the dream so let's talk about how you can recognize your future spouse in your dream number one keep in mind that your future spouse may not look or sound anything like the spouse represented in your dream many people have had dreams where they see themselves marrying someone with a certain eye color or a particular hair color or they have a certain build or they're of a particular race or ethnicity but most of the time the person whom God has for you will look very different now of course there have been people who have had dreams and their spouses looked just like the people in the dream so I'm not saying that can't happen I'm just saying that most of the time the actual person will look different from the person in the dream now let's look at facial features for example the person in the dream may have blue eyes and blonde hair but those features may be symbolic and not literal God could be revealing that your future spouse will be a prophetic Visionary and that the glory and wisdom of God will rest upon them or the spouse in the dream may have a very wide or big nose which could mean that the actual person will have a Discerning spirit because noses and dreams are symbolic of a spirit of discernment and so if you have a dream like this you wouldn't go around looking for people with big noses it could be that God is just revealing a characteristic of your future spouse some people have had dreams that they married someone of A different race and a person of A different race in a dream can also be symbolic and not literal for example you're an African-American woman and in the dream you're marrying a white or Hispanic man now the man can be literal where you will literally marry a white man or a Hispanic man but the white man can simply represent a righteous and godly man or the Hispanic man can be representing someone who is simply different from you I have many stories relating to this but I'll give you one example an African-American woman that I know had a dream that she married an African man as she talked to him on the phone in the dream she noticed his strong African accent when she woke up she believed that God was showing her her future spouse and that he would be African she was right in that God was revealing her future spouse but she was wrong in thinking that he would be African God sent her someone of a different culture but not in the way she thought while she was born and raised in the northern part of the United States her spouse was raised in the South and although they were both African-American they were raised in different Regional cultures so the African man in her dream was not literal but symbolic so while God can show you your future spouse in a dream always keep in mind that dreams are highly symbolic and that your future spouse may look quite different from the man or woman of of your dreams number two if a person is helping you with something in particular in your dream they may be your future spouse they may be helping you to complete a particular task or a project and they're usually standing or sitting very close to you they're very close to you in proximity you could be arm in arm holding hands but the person is very close and this could be a sign that the person in the dream is your future spouse number three having a dream where you're marrying someone you know in real life someone who's single and you're not romantically involved with that person in real life now God could be revealing your actual future spouse that that person is your actual future spouse or that the person in the dream has the same qualities or characteristics as as your future spouse will have so if you have this type of dream do not immediately tell the person that you dreamed about that you married them in the dream always pray and see God first for the true meaning of the dream now I know of one woman that told a man that she and he had gotten married in her dream and that she felt it was God's will for them to get married and it actually worked in her favor but I know of many other times that this particular strategy did not pan out well so always seek God's guidance and his wisdom in cases like this number four the person in your dream may be your future spouse if they are presenting you with a gift or an object that's clearly seen for example you can have a dream where someone is giving you a diamond ring or another type of jewelry or even money this would represent that the person is offering you something precious and valuable which could represent them offering themselves in marriage so again if you know the person in the dream pray and ask God to reveal its true meaning hey have you picked up your copy of the exactly like the person you ended up marrying

Carl Jung and the Psychology of Dreams

“We also live in our dreams, we do not live  only by day. Sometimes we accomplish our   greatest deeds in dreams.” Carl Jung, The Red Book   Are dreams the product of random brain activity,  or a side effect of the mind consolidating its   memories? Are they, as Sigmund Freud suggested,  the expression of repressed wishes and desires?   Or is there something richer and more  meaningful to dreams that escapes the   notice of many in the modern day? Carl  Jung believed there was, and in this video,   we are going to explore why dreams are  of vital importance to our mental and   physical health and how the art of dream interpretation can revitalize our life.    “It is only in modern times that the dream, this  fleeting and insignificant looking product of   the psyche, has met with such profound contempt.  Formerly it was esteemed as a harbinger of fate,   a portent and comforter, a messenger of the gods.  Now we see it as the emissary of the unconscious,   whose task it is to reveal the secrets  that are hidden from the conscious mind,   and this it does with astounding completeness.” Carl Jung, Two Essays on Analytical Psychology   The interpretation of dreams was an integral part  of Jung’s therapeutic approach. According to his   own estimate, he analyzed no less than  80,000 dreams. In his Seminar on Dreams,   Jung stated that “dreams are messages sent  up from the unconscious”. And so to grasp   the significance of dreams, we must understand  how Jung conceived of the unconscious psyche.   In a lecture given in 1934, Jung wrote that “It is  as if our consciousness were...a ship on the great   sea of the unconscious.” (Carl Jung, ETH Zurich)  The fate of a ship is partially determined by the   activity of the sea and likewise the direction of  our life is highly influenced by the unconscious.   Furthermore, just as the sea contains resources,  treasures, and dangers that are not easily seen   from the surface, so too potentials for good  and evil are hidden in our unconscious depths.   Psychological development, according to Jung, is  facilitated by bringing unconscious contents into   the light of consciousness, for this enriches our  conscious personality, increases our knowledge,   and promotes psychological wholeness. “One does  not become enlightened by imagining figures of   light, but by making the darkness conscious.”  (Carl Jung, Alchemical Studies) More than any   other phenomenon dreams can facilitate  this process as they act as a window into   the unconscious mind, or as Jung explains:  “...the dream is a spontaneous self-portrayal,   in symbolic form, of the actual situation  in the unconscious...The dream is   specifically the utterance of the unconscious.” Carl Jung, Structure and Dynamics of the Psyche   Paying attention to our dreams, and therein  making more of the unconscious conscious,   bestows many benefits. One of which is that  dreams contain insights which in waking   life we are unable, or unwilling, to see.  “When we sleep the soul is lit up completely by   many eyes; with them we can see everything  that we could not see in the daytime.”   Aeschylus Intuitions or gut feelings that are not   consciously processed, subtle hunches about the  true character of other people, as well as blind   spots and self-deceptions that are inhibiting  our development – all are examples of insights   which our unconscious can reveal in dreams.  This ability of a dream to disclose knowledge   otherwise unavailable to waking consciousness  is why throughout history, in the words of Jung,   “the dream has been regarded as a truth-telling  oracle.” Or as Jung explains in more detail:    “The unconscious is the dark being within that  hears what our conscious ears do not hear, and   sees what our conscious eyes do not perceive...We  only become aware of this unheard hearing,   this unseen seeing, when the unconscious  sends us these forgotten images in dreams.”     Carl Jung, ETH Zurich 1933-41 As windows into the unconscious,   dreams also provide us with information  about the health, or sickness, of our body.   For the unconscious is intimately connected to the  biology of the body and involved in regulating the   functioning of organs. It is thus capable of  detecting subtle abnormalities in the body,   and it is not unusual for the unconscious  to disclose these abnormalities in dreams,   long before any overt symptoms show. Or as the  Jungian psychoanalyst James Hall explains:    “It is by no means an easy matter to make  organic diagnoses from dream material,   although there are many striking examples  of such predictions: the dream of an inner   "explosion" preceding the leaking of an  aortic aneurysm, the appearance of dream   figures with gall bladder disease prior to that  illness being suspected in the dreamer, etc.”    James Hall, Jungian Dream Interpretation Dreams can also warn us of the type of   future that may manifest if we  continue in our errant ways.    “Dreams prepare, announce, or warn about  certain situations, often long before they   actually happen.” wrote Jung, “This is not  necessarily a miracle or a precognition.   Most crises or dangerous situations have a long  incubation, only the conscious mind is not aware   of it. Dreams can betray the secret.” Carl Jung, The Symbolic Life   Jung provides an example of a dream of this  type. Jung’s colleague, an amateur mountaineer,   told Jung of the following dream: He was  climbing a mountain, and the higher he climbed,   the better he felt. When he reached the summit  of the mountain he wanted to continue to climb   and so he stepped off the summit into  thin air, and suddenly he awoke.    Jung intuitively felt this dream to be a warning  from the unconscious. He implored his colleague   to take extra precautions on any future climbs  or avoid them altogether. But the man did not   heed the advice. Three months later the man  went climbing, and in the words of Jung:    “A guide standing below saw him literally step out  into the air while descending a rock face. He fell   on the head of his friend, who was waiting lower  down, and both were dashed to pieces far below.”    Carl Jung, Practice of Psychotherapy Dreams also play an important role in   the creative process. We know from  the history of philosophy, science,   art, and literature, that many great creations  and discoveries have been inspired by dreams.   A dream informed the Russian chemist Dmitry  Mendeleyev of the correct order of the elements   based on atomic weight. August Kekule was shown  the structure of the benzene ring in a dream.   The basic theme of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel  Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde came to him in a dream.   While Carl Jung stated that all his  greatest ideas were conceived in dreams:    “In the end, the only events in my life worth  telling are…inner experiences, amongst which I   include my dreams and visions. These form  the prima materia of my scientific work.   They were the fiery magma out of which the  stone that had to be worked was crystallized.”    Carl Jung, Memories, Dreams, Reflections Dreams also have the capacity to break us   free from a worldview that is too constricting and  from a day-to-day existence that is too mundane.   The dreams that do this are  sometimes called “big dreams”.   Big dreams are the highly significant dreams  that are often remembered for a lifetime,   and some even prove to be among the  most valuable experiences of life.   These are the dreams that possess a religious  or spiritual significance, provide insights   regarding the eternal questions of life, and even  transform how we view ourselves and the world.   Regarding the nature of big dreams, the Swiss  psychologist Marie-Louise von Franz writes:    “Occasionally, one has a dream that is so remote  from one’s life, so numinous (Jung’s favorite   word for intensely moving experience), and so  strange and uncanny that it does not seem to   belong to the dreamer. It is like a visitation  from another world, which in truth it is,   the other world being the subterranean one of  the unconscious. In ancient times, and even   today among some people, such dreams are regarded  as messages from the gods or ancestral figures.   These dreams are called “big” dreams by Jung.”  Marie-Louise von Franz, Dreams   Jung recounted a particularly striking big dream  he experienced in 1944, just after suffering a   heart attack that nearly killed him. Jung dreamt  that he was walking in the wilderness and stumbled   upon an old chapel. When he entered the chapel,  he saw a yogi seated in the lotus position,   in deep meditation. Jung continues:  “When I looked at him more closely,   I realized that he had my face. I stared in  profound fright, and awoke with the thought:   ‘Aha, so he is the one who is meditating  me. He has a dream and I am it.’ I knew that   when he awakened, I would no longer be.”  Carl Jung, Memories, Dreams, Reflections   Big dreams are rare. Most people experience no  more than a handful of them. The dreams that   most frequently populate our sleeping hours  are what Jung called compensatory dreams.   The function of such dreams is  to compensate, or correct for,   the one-sidedness, errors, deviations, or  other deficiencies of our conscious attitude.   The more our conscious mind is ill-adapted  to reality, and the more we are evading the   tasks of life, the more we will be visited  by dreams of a compensatory nature.      “When we pay attention to our dreams a  self-regulating tendency in the soul comes   into play which counterbalances the one-sidedness  of consciousness or completes it so that a kind of   wholeness and a life’s optimum is achieved.”  Marie-Louise von Franz, Dreams   A few examples will help clarify  the nature of compensatory dreams.   A man who is not fulfilling his duties as a father  will have dreams that his children hate him in   order to bring him to the awareness that he is  avoiding one of the most important tasks of life.   A woman who is too identified with her persona, or  social personality, will have dreams of committing   crimes or engaging in immoral behavior so  that she sees the shadow, or unconscious   dark side of her personality, that she needs to  integrate to develop a more complete character.   Or a man who approaches middle age,  yet remains dependent on his parents,   will have dreams that portray him as a  helpless child, or as being smothered to death,   so that he becomes aware of the perilous situation  which his lack of independence is creating.      “…the compensatory function of dreams  offers welcome assistance. [Compensatory   dreams]…illuminate the patient’s situation in a  way that can be exceedingly beneficial to health.   They bring him memories, insights, experiences,  awaken dormant qualities in the personality,   and reveal the unconscious element in his  relationships. So it seldom happens that   anyone who has taken the trouble to work  over his dreams…remains without enrichment   and a broadening of his mental horizon.”  Carl Jung, Development of Personality   But if dreams are significant messages sent from  the unconscious, why are they so difficult to   decipher? Why doesn’t the unconscious present  these messages to us in a form that is easier   for our conscious mind to understand? While the  conscious mind is capable of rationality and   logic, the unconscious is by nature irrational –  it does not operate by the laws of logic and it   communicates primarily in symbols, not words.  “As a plant produces its flower, so the psyche   creates its symbols. Every dream  is evidence of this process.”    Carl Jung, The Symbolic Life The fact that the conscious and   unconscious mind communicate in different  languages explains why dreams are enigmatic.   Yet just because we do not fully understand the  meaning of the symbols presented to us in dreams,   does not mean they do not influence us. For just  as fairy tales, myths, religious teachings and   rituals transcend rational understanding yet have  influenced human beings for thousands of years,   dreams can influence the course of our life  even if we do not fully understand them.    “Dreams pave the way for life, and they determine  you without you understanding their language.”   Carl Jung, The Red Book Or as Jung explained elsewhere:    “It is often objected that the [dream] must be  ineffective unless the dream is understood. This   is not so certain, however, for many things  can be effective without being understood.   But there is no doubt that we can enhance its  effect considerably by understanding the dream,   and this is often necessary because the voice   of the unconscious so easily goes unheard.”  Carl Jung, Structure and Dynamics of the Psyche   To understand dreams and thereby enhance their  effects, we should make a habit of recording our   dreams first thing in the morning - for memories  of dreams quickly fade as we go about our day.   When we come across a dream which we feel is  particularly significant, we can engage in   what Jung called dream amplification. Amplifying a  dream involves reflecting on the dream and weaving   ideas, concepts, and associations around it. This  might include recalling memories that we think   are related to the dream, allowing our intuition  to freely speculate on its meaning, or thinking   about whether the dream is related to a task we  are not fulfilling or if it is compensating for   a conscious attitude that is ill adapted to the  demands of life. In interpreting a big dream,   amplification is aided by knowledge of mythology  and religion, for big dreams are often composed   of the recurring symbols and motifs that are found  cross-culturally in religions and myths. We will   know that we have stumbled upon a correct dream  interpretation when, in the words of Jung,    “…the interpretation "clicks"; when there is  the feeling that it absolutely hits the fact,   one knows one is on the right track.” Carl Jung, Seminar on Dreams   Or as von Franz elaborates regarding  Jung’s method of dream amplification:    “Jung did not interpret his dreams by immediately  forming a clear idea of what they meant; instead,   he carried them around within himself, lived with  them inwardly, as it were, and asked questions of   them. If he came across something in a book or  in an outer experience which reminded him of a   dream image, he would add it to that image, so  to speak, so that a fabric of ideas developed,   with a constantly increasing richness.”  Marie-Louise von Franz, Dreams   If we pay more attention to our dreams and  devote more time to understanding them,   we will possess an effective antidote against  many of the collective sicknesses of our age.   For in Jung’s analysis, much of what plagues  modern society, be it endemic levels of neurotic   illnesses, mass-delusions, a widespread level  of cowardice amongst the general population,   an extreme susceptibility to propaganda, or a  sheeplike obedience to corrupt authority figures,   is the result of a dangerous disconnect  between the conscious mind and the unconscious.   Modern man has lost touch with his instincts,  with the basic facts of human nature, and with   a commonsense wisdom that is millions of years  old. As it is dreams that help forge a connection   to this ancient ground of our being, the more we  pay attention to our dreams, the more we will find   the inner strength and intuitive wisdom needed to  thrive in a sick society. Or as Jung explains:    “Dreams are impartial, spontaneous products of  the unconscious psyche, outside the control of the   will.”, explains Jung. “They are pure nature; they  show us the unvarnished, natural truth, and are   therefore fitted, as nothing else is, to give us  back an attitude that accords with our basic human   nature when our consciousness has strayed too far  from its foundations and runs into an impasse.”    Carl Jung, Civilization in Transition
